As road underdogs against No. 14 West Virginia, Iowa State knew they’d need big performances from multiple players to have a chance. When Monte Morris, Georges Niang and Dustin Hogue found themselves in foul trouble early in the second half, transfers Jameel McKay and Abdel Nader answered the call off the bench.

McKay recorded five blocks, the most since Jamie Vanderbeken recorded six in 2011, and Nader tied a career-high 19 points to lead the Cyclones to the narrow 74-72 victory. The two combined for a dominating stat line against the Mountaineers:

Points: 25

Rebounds: 14

Blocks: 6

Minutes: 44
