Katy perry expecations at the super bowl
January 30, 2015
This weekend, when the New England Patriots play the Seattle Seahawks for the Super Bowl, over 100 million viewers will be watching. But for the 12 minutes in between, all eyes will be on Katy Perry.
In a report from USA Today, executive producer of the Super Bowl halftime show Ricky Kirshner says that this halftime performance will be unlike any other performance ever performed at the Super Bowl. Katy Perry is supposedly going to be entering and exiting the stages via ways that have never been done before. The executive team decided in the summer to have Perry perform and since then, they have been planning all aspects of the show, including all of the different designs for the stage. It all comes down to just 12 minutes after over a half-a-year of planning that goes into it.
Perry, originally climbing to fame with her hit single, “I Kissed a Girl,” has been on an upward slope, having multiple songs reach the number one spot on the Hot 100 list from her album “Teenage Dream.”
USA Today reported that Perry and all of the executives have been working very well together and they are all expecting a tremendous show.
The set list for Perry’s performance is unknown but it will be interesting to see which songs she will choose. From her, very popular songs off of her album “Teenage Dream,” which features songs like “California Gurls” and “Firework,” she also has many hit songs from her latest album, “Prism,” which features songs such as “Roar” and “Dark Horse.” Either way, Katy Perry is going to put on one heck of a show and viewers have a lot to be excited about.
However, The Washington Post reported that Perry plans to try and fit in as many of her hits as possible. Also, fans can expect to see lots of humor involved with the performance as well. Perry has always been known to try and include humor into her performances and now that she is on the biggest stage in the world, it would be shocking if she chooses not to continue that.
Fans from all around the world are asking different questions about the performance. What will she play? What will she be wearing? What will the stage look like? All questions will arive Super Bowl Sunday, when Katy Perry takes the stage for 12 minutes in front of an audience of over 100 million viewers.
