“Hands up, don’t shoot”

Before the Sunday football game between the Oakland Raiders and the St. Louis Rams started, several Rams players entered the Missouri field during pregame introductions with their hands raised in the air.

The players mimicked the “Hands up, don’t shoot” gesture that is still used by protesters months after the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown at the hands of police officer Darren Wilson in August in Ferguson, Mo.

The Rams players aren’t the first in the NFL to pay tribute to the Ferguson case. When Brown died, players for the Washington Redskins sported the gesture. Now that the grand jury ruled decided not to indict Officer Darren Wilson, protests and reactions continue.
