Beard ornaments are a hipster’s dream

The American public has reached a new low…or high, depending on your feelings concerning seasonal facial hair decoration. That’s right, folks, beard ornaments are upon us.

“You remember #FlowerBeards, right? Of course you do. It was that wacky craze that swept the internet for 1.5 days this July,” says Esquire.com in a fabulous comparison to the new beard-related sensation.

These particular beard decorations vary in size and color, but are generally secured to the beard by means of bobby pins. The concept is simple, but weirdly genius.

Numerous online retailers are selling these ornamental spheres for a profit. That’s right. Places are selling these things for money.

As ridiculous as they may seem, some of these festive bits of joy are actually sold for a good cause. The brand name “Beard Baubles” donates proceeds to beardseason.com, which is working to raise melanoma awareness.

So get out there and buy yourself some beard ornaments. Help out a charity, dress yourself up and be the center of attention with one of 2014 most original accessories.
