Human trafficking in Iowa and beyond
7 to 9 p.m., Great Hall, Memorial Union
The Iowa Network Against Human Trafficking hopes to raise awareness about the issue of human trafficking in Iowa and beyond.
Audience will learn about “preventing the victimization of school-age youth and young adults, including vulnerable populations such as unaccompanied minors, homeless youth and individuals who are undocumented or whose employers have taken their legal documentation,” a release said.
Speakers include Michael Ferjak, Director of the Iowa Office of the Attorney General’s anti-human trafficking initiative; Karen Gale, Victim Assistance Specialist with the FBI; and Teresa Downing-Matibag, Executive Director of the NAHT.
