An internship is an opportunity for students to get real job experience before being tossed into the professional world.
Though some internships are geared toward upperclassmen, career services suggests even freshmen and sophomores begin preparing now to obtain an internship.
How to prepare:
- Go to career fairs prepared
- Attend resume workshops
- Visit career services for mock interviews
- Join a club or organization on campus
- Get an on-campus job by checking CyHire to add to your resume and gain experience
- Network with professors, advisers and at career fairs
- Constantly update your resume
