NFL: Colts handle Giants on MNF
November 4, 2014
The Indianapolis Colts allowed their QB, Andrew Luck, to metaphorically “put the team on his back” against the New York Giants Monday night. It was proven that head coach Chuck Pagano has no problem letting his play caller air it out over and over.
Luck threw 46 times for 354 yards and four touchdowns in the 40-24 rout.
Luck became the first player in NFL history with at least 350 passing yards in 5 straight road games. He now has 23 Pass TD this season, matching his total from each of the previous 2 seasons.
The Giants D tried everything in the defensive hand book when trying to slow down Luck and the Colts athletic receivers. They tried bringing pressure to try to get the Colts out of their rhythm, but Luck has shown in his three seasons that he is the king of manipulating the pocket, getting away from the pressure and finding his targets in stride on the move.
The Giants, who have lost three in a row, will get ready to travel to Seattle to take on the Seahawks in Week 10. The defending champs are banged up, but it’s never easy for opponents to play at CenturyLink Field.
The Colts head into the bye week at 6-3 before a huge AFC matchup against the New England Patriots.
With Luck and Tom Brady each at the top of their games, that one has the makings for a “can not miss” shootout.
