Vaudeville Mews will welcome Zak Waters to the stage at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 12th.

Waters is a Los Angeles based act that creates a soulful and seductive sound. Waters is influenced by acts such as Michael Jackson and Marvin Gaye. He explained that G-Funk, a sub-genre of hip-hop, played an influential role in his music.

“G-Funk originated in LA and was always very prominent on the radio when I was growing up, which had a lot of influence in my own music,” Waters said.

Waters brings in emotion through the lyrics of his songs.

“Waters is the total package because he writes his own music, produces for himself and others, and has the best live band west of the Mississippi,” said Phillip Bloom, Waters’ manager. “He is and always will be ahead of the curve.”

The nature of Waters’ lyrics comes from his roots. Waters is an LA boy through and through.

“The provocative nature of the songs probably comes from all of the 90s and R&B I grew up listening to. That stuff is ingrained in my brain, so some of those themes come through in my music. I knew I wanted to do stuff that was sexy and fun,” Waters said.

Waters has previously toured with Australian singer Betty Who, where he gained a new demographic. This tour helped Waters gain experience and open eyes to many people who had never heard of him.

Fans can expect a hyped up and adrenaline inducing show. The show will get the crowd excited and be expected to dance and sing along.

“Surprisingly lots of guys have been showing their dance moves at shows and becoming hardcore fans,” Bloom said.

Doors open at Vaudeville Mews at 6:00 p.m., and the show begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 at the door.
