ISU men’s golf signs Iowa native
November 12, 2014
ISU men’s golf coach Andrew Tank has signed his first recruit for the 2015-2016 season.
Conner Koberg, currently a senior at John F. Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, signed on Nov. 12 to join the Cyclones as a freshman next season.
His resume features two all-state honors and a tied-for-fifth-place finish at the 2014 4A state tournament where he led his team to a fourth-place finish. Koberg also finished fifth at the 2013 state tournament.
In the Golfweek/Sagarin boys rankings, Koberg is No. 620.
Koberg has been in the top 10 for scoring average in the Iowa High School Athletic Association in the past two seasons.
The Cedar Rapids native will become the second Iowa native on the team, joining redshirt junior from Waukee, Collin Foster.
Koberg will have big shoes to fill as he will help replace junior Levi Fink, who left the team after one semester, and current seniors Sam Daley and Scott Fernandez, one of Iowa State’s most successful duos.
