Top Holiday Activities:

1. Take a group of friends with you and go ice-skating. This is a great way to spend an afternoon over winter break. Ames/ISU Ice Arena is located at 1507 Gateway Hills Park Dr.

2. Creative Spirits is a place in West Ames where you and your friends can get together and paint a picture on a canvas while enjoying a glass of wine (or drink of your choice). There is an instructor to guide you through all of the steps.

3. Have a Christmas decorating contest with your friends. Get a bunch of friends together and hang up all the Christmas decorations you can find. Split the price of the decorations between you and your roommates so it lowers the cost. This will also work if you are in a sorority or fraternity house.

4. Go sledding with your friends. When was the last time you went sledding? Chances are it has been quite some time. It can be a great way to spend an afternoon if you are back in your hometown and looking for something to do with your old high school friends.

5. Have a bake-off with your friends or family. There are tons of Holiday treats to choose from. This would be perfect on a cold, snowy day over Christmas break.
