Mud expects to be present at cross country NCAA Championships
November 21, 2014
Mud is no stranger to Terre Haute, Indiana during the NCAA Cross Country Championships, and on Nov. 22, it is expected to once again factor into the race.
Redshirt senior Katy Moen said the conditions at last year’s event were less than ideal, but the team was able pull away with a 13th place performance.
“Last year at Terre Haute, it was pretty awful weather,” Moen said. “They ended up having to move the start line up because of the mud and the water that was settled on the course.”
Sophomore Bethanie Brown believes her experience racing last year has her better prepared for the Nov. 22 race.
“I think I’m a little more calm in terms of knowing whatever the conditions are, everybody else has to go through it, too,” Brown said. “It worked last year, so whatever happens this year, it’s going to be fine.”
