Week 8 fantasy warning
October 21, 2014
Warning: Be careful in this week’s waiver wire. After last week’s performances there are a lot of players that might seem like the missing pieces to your fantasy teams, but the odds are they are just one hit wonders.
Fantasy experts… first off, what even is a “fantasy expert?” Not too sure, but a lot of people seem to think they are allowed to label themselves that title. A lot of “experts” told people to play Patriots RB Brandon Bolden last week and that obviously did not turn out well at all.
Bolden’s stat line: 4 reception yards. (For the people who do not know fantasy… that is at best one point.)
What have we learned class? Stop listening to experts. Nobody is able to predict stats, the only positive thing that these “experts” are able to do is give you an idea of which top players are going to produce more than others.
Hint: All these experts are doing is just looking at match ups and predicting accordingly from their prior stats.
This week is not the week to listen to your favorite fantasy expert in RB pick ups for sure. Denard Robinson and Tre Mason are not the answers to your problems. Stick with what you have unless you are absolutely sure one of your players is just not worth keeping.
The only thing your waiver wire should do for you in this week’s pickups is if you need people due to a bye or an injury. Don’t give up on a good player who is producing low this week. Wait a couple more weeks when more BYE weeks are happening and you are able to see a strong trend in performance.
Lesson given: Stick with your team this week, don’t go fishing in the waiver wire.
At the end of the day folks, fantasy experts are just fun. People love fantasy and they want to see predictions to get amped up for your weekly matchup.
