Corporal punishment is a better form of discipline
October 6, 2014
Using corporal punishment as a form of discipline is an essential tool to raising children.
Here are three reasons why corporal punishment would be beneficial to children
- It defines boundaries and consequences for inappropriate behavior that a child might display.
- It is a meaningful form of discipline that deters the child from committing wrongdoings repeatedly
- It is a significant tool for defining authority and commanding respect.
Using corporal punishment rather than alternative forms of punishment; like giving into the child to avoid confrontation, shows the child that the parent is in control of the situation and boundaries are set that are not meant to be crossed.
