“It’s October 3rd”
October 3, 2014
“On October 3rd, he asked me what day it was. ‘It’s October 3rd.’ Two weeks later, we spoke again.” Ten years later, what are our favorite “Mean Girls” characters up to?
1. Kevin G, played by Rajiv Surendra
Rajiv has become a craftsman in New York City making candles and pottery. He also does calligraphy and works under the name of “Letters in Ink.” I guess his days of telling Janis he wants to see her “shakin’ that thang” are over.
2. Karen, played by Amanda Seyfried
Amanda took more serious roles in “Mamma Mia,” “Dear John,” and “Les Miserables.” She also had a regular role in HBO’s “Big Love” and is dating Justin Long.
3. Aaron Samuels, played by Jonathan Bennett
This was most likely every girl’s crush during the time of this movie but sadly Jonathan’s career has slipped since “Mean Girls.” He has done a few TV shows and films, such as Lifetime’s “The Wrong Woman.” He has also been in relationships with Lance Bass and Matt Dallas and he moonlights as a spin instructor in Los Angeles.
4. Gretchen Weiners, played by Lacey Chabert
Her hair still looks as if it is full of secrets, but she is no longer the daughter of the Toaster Strudel inventor. Chabert has had a few roles like the voice of Gwen Stacy in “The Spectacular Spider-Man” cartoon and has appeared in ABC Family’s “Baby Daddy.”
5. Glen Coco, played by David Reale
Never having a big role — or lines — in “Mean Girls,” Reale has appeared in a few TV shows such as “Skins,” “Suits” and “Nikita.” At least he’s doing something and for that — you go, Glen Coco.
6. Damian, played by Daniel Franzese
The actor, who recently came out in an open letter to his “Mean Girls” character, hasn’t done any big roles since the movie but is going to be playing a love interest on an HBO series about gay men in San Francisco. I would still like to know if he ever met the real Danny DeVito.
7. Principal Duvall, played by Tim Meadows
He has maintained a good career since the movie with a few TV shows like “The Colbert Report” and “30 Rock” and some films such as “Semi-Pro” and “Grown Ups.” He was also one of the few to return for the unsuccessful sequel of “Mean Girls.”
8. Janice Ian, played by Lizzy Caplan
Her hair no longer looks as if it was made out of “your mom’s chest hair,” and she has been successful since “Mean Girls.” She starred in “True Blood,” “Party Down” and currently is staring in “Masters of Sex.”
9. Crying girl, played by Jill Morrison
She doesn’t even go here. Her cake of rainbows and smiles must have worked because her small role landed her on more small roles on TV shows such as “Supernatural” and “Psych.” She also had roles in the movies “Tooth Fairy” and “Deck the Halls.”
10. Cady, played by Lindsay Lohan
Africa, what happened?
