Actors you love in roles you would never guess

Morgan Freeman: Vincent the Vegetable Vampire
Morgan Freeman has never been typecast into one specific role, but he has become extremely well loved for his style, tremendous acting and most notably, his voice. When people look at Morgan Freeman nowadays, not many would guess he could sing, and even fewer would guess that he’s played a singing vampire with an extreme fondness for vegetables.
That’s right, on the 1970’s show, “The Electric Company,” now famous actor Morgan Freeman played Vincent the Vegetable Vampire. The show was a children’s educational program that contained comedy and vaudeville and mixed them with early acts such as Freeman and Bill Cosby. You can easily YouTube the two stars and the electric company to see all of their hilarious early roles.
Elijah Wood: Back to the Future 2
Elijah Wood, unlike Morgan Freeman, has somewhat been typecast as Frodo Baggins from “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy. Before that though, he had a pretty busy start as a child actor. In the 1989 classic, “Back to the Future Part 2,” Michael J. Fox shows a couple of kids how to play an arcade game, and one of those kids is Elijah Wood. Most people overlook that role unless they go back now and watch it.
Along with that, Wood also starred in the Disney film, “The Adventures of Huck Finn,” playing Huck. Despite his cameos and roles as a child star, Elijah Wood has still managed to grow up as a fully functioning adult and movie star, and for that we thank him.
Jack Gleeson: Batman Begins
You may not recognize the actors name at first, but if you watch Game of Thrones or have seen Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, then you’ve definitely seen this young actor.
In Game of Thrones, Jack Gleeson plays Joffrey Baratheon, the controversial and wildly hated young lord in the show. Having his breakout role be someone so unanimously hated has caused people to overlook his smaller, more likeable role in Nolan’s Batman series. In “Batman Begins,” Gleeson plays an innocent kid that gets to meet Batman face-to-face. The small role is one that the audience connects with and adores, as opposed to despises and wishes death upon.
Looking back through old films and shows and seeing where today’s big stars got their start is a lot of fun, and you can find out a lot of funny cameos. I mean, look at George Clooney, he got his big break on the hit show “ER” and look where he is now!
