Statue of Liberty gets new Halloween costume

The Statue of Liberty will be wearing a bow tie this year for Halloween. The bow tie is acting as an advertisement for a new menswear brand called Nick Graham.

The bow tie will be 60 feet long and weighs 35 pounds and will come in both black and orange with white dots.

While the Statue of Liberty won’t actually be wearing a bow tie, the tie will be hanging from helicopters that will be in front of the statue and will give off the illusion that the Statue of Liberty is actually wearing the bow tie.

USA Today reported that since the event is taking place 1,000 feet away from Liberty Island, Nick Graham will not be required to be issued a permit by the National Park Service.
