Setting The Bar
The Bar features unique decor, an oversized American flag hung from the wall, open popcorn machine as well as bar stools and other optimal seating. The far corner of the bar, converts to the stage area for bands and other groups to perform for Bar guests on Friday nights.

Taylor Sondrol, fifth year student in event management, and her mother, Cheryl, manage and run The Bar in Ames. But that isn’t the only unique aspect of this family run business. Cheryl and Danny Sondrol each owned separate bars, Cheryl in New York and Danny in Ames. It wasn’t until they tied the knot that they came together to jointly own and operate The Bar in Ames.
