The ISU tennis team (6-3, 0-0 Big 12) was routed 7-0 Friday night by the Minnesota in Minneapolis.

The Cyclones lost the first point, as Minnesota claimed all three doubles matches.

Junior Ksenia Pronina’s recent struggles continued as she lost at No. 1 singles in a rematch with Tereza Brichacova, 6-4, 6-0.

The two met for the first time in the finals of the Gopher Invitational back in September 2013, a match that was also won by Brichacova. Friday’s match was Pronina’s third consecutive loss in the singles format, stretching back to last weekend.

Freshman Samantha Budai lost for the first time in five weeks. She fell to Natallia Pintusava in the closest match of the night, 6-2, 7-5.

The rest of the ISU competitors all lost in straight sets, which completed the sweep for the Golden Gophers.

The Cyclones will not have much time to ponder their defeat as they take to the court at 1 p.m. Saturday. Iowa State will face off against Marshall, ranked No. 70 in the nation.
