The ISU gymnastics team scored its highest total of the season Friday night, beating West Virginia 196.025-194.175 at Hilton Coliseum in front of a crowd of 1,797 people.

The Cyclones (2-4, 1-1 Big 12) were once again led by junior Caitlin Brown. Brown tallied a career-high 39.275 points and earned second place in the all-around competition.

Hope Sloanhoffer led West Virginia (4-4, 0-1 Big 12) by totaling 39.325, enough to win the all-around competition.

Iowa State had the top scorers in three events tonight, led by Alex Marasco on beam (9.850), Henrietta Green on floor exercise (9.875) and Camille Santerre on bars (9.950).

Santerre’s mark on the bars etched her name in Iowa State history, as it tied the highest score ever by a Cyclone on the apparatus. Santerre followed her performance on the bars with a mark of  9.825.

The Cyclones return to action Feb. 16 in Dekalb, Ill., where they will compete in a tri-meet against Northern Illinois and Texas Women’s University.
