Iowa State places last at quad meet at UCLA

Iowa State (4-10, 0-2 Big 12) finished in last place at a four-team meet in Los Angeles with a score of 194.65. No. 3 Michigan came in first with a score of 197.55. No. 6 UCLA scored 197.075 followed by California with 194.925.

Iowa State began its night with a score of 48.45 on floor exercise. Sophomore Caitlin Brown scored a career high 9.875 and tied the highest score of any Cyclone of floor this season.

On the second rotation, Brown tied another career high. She received 9.825 on her vault. Iowa State scored 48.175 on vault.

Iowa State improved a full point from its second to its third event, the uneven bars. Junior Michelle Shealy scored a career high 9.9 on her bars routine, the highest event score by any Cyclone this season.

The balance beam was Iowa State’s final event. The Cyclones scored 48.45 and Shealy continued with the high scores, she received 9.875 on her beam routine.

Shealy had the top score on balance beam. Brown and junior Hailey Johnson tied for second.
