ISU women’s golf teams shoots into history books

The ISU women’s golf team finished second out of 15 teams this past weekend at the Mountain View Collegiate in Tuscon, Ariz.

First place went to Texas Tech, with a score of 858. Iowa State was close behind with a score of 865.

With that score, the 2012 ISU women’s golf team shot into the history books, scoring the second-lowest three rounds of golf in school history.

The team was led by Prima Thammaraks and Punpaka Phuntumabamrung, who tied for ninth place with scores of 216.

Close behind was Kristin Paulson, who finished tied for 13th place with a score of 218, and Sasikarn On-Iam, who finished tied for 18th place with a score of 219.

Iowa State will be on a break until April 21 when the Cyclones will compete at the Lady Buckeye Invitational in Columbus, Ohio.
