Take advantages of these campus resources to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle at Iowa State:
Professional counselors offer prevention, intervention, information, and referral services for students. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Whether it’s stress, relationship problems, motivation problems, substance abuse concerns or eating disorder concerns, the Student Counseling Services covers it all.
The full-featured health center covers all your needs including illness and injury care, mental health services, immunizations and physical exams. The center has an on-site pharmacy for your convenience. Prevention, wellness and education services related to drinking, sexual and interpersonal violence, and healthy lifestyle habits are also available.
Lied Recreation Athletic Center
The Lied Recreation Athletic Center features a weight room, fitness area, rock climbing wall and two indoor tracks. Additionally, the center has 20 basketball courts, eight volleyball courts, eight badminton courts and six racquetball courts to keep you active.
The building features a swimming pool and outdoor basketball courts. There are basketball, volleyball, racquetball and squash courts plus a weight room.
Take advantage of the Outdoor Recreation Program located in the northwest lower level of Beyer Hall. The program organizes nature trips across the country. Outdoor Recreation also allows students to rent camping gear, boats, bikes and sporting equipment.
There are several clubs, intramurals, and classes on campus that increase physical activity. Recreation services offers boxing, crew, fencing, hockey, soccer and a variety of other clubs. There are intramural sports throughout the year.
