Former Cyclone drafted to Bengals during 7th round

Despite the Cyclone football team winning its first bowl game since 2004, and having it’s most successful season in four seasons, the only football player to be drafted by an NFL team was center Reggie Stephens.

Stephens was selected in seventh round, 228th overall, by the Cincinnati Bengals and was still with the team as it opened training camp July 28.

After one year of having no draft picks, Stephens is the first Cyclone drafted into the NFL since former linebacker Alvin Bowen was picked 147th overall by the Bills and defensive tackle Ahytba Rubin was selected 190th overall by Cleveland.
