SOCCER: Woelfel earns Big 12 Newcomer of the Week

Iowa State freshman Amanda Woelfel was named Big 12’s Soccer Newcomer of the Week for games played between Sept. 4–7. In the Cyclones’ two wins over the weekend, Woelfel scored two goals and contributed to four points. The midfielder compiled five shots on goal and had a 1.000 shots-on-goal percentage.

Woelfel’s first goals of her career were both scored in Iowa State’s game against No. 20 DePaul. The Omaha, Neb., native’s second goal against the Blue Demons was a game-winner for the Cyclones.
