Communication conference to feature Englin, Mack

The Department of Residence is sponsoring a communication conference Saturday.

Barbara Mack, associate professor of journalism and mass communication, and Dean of Students Pete Englin will be keynote speakers.

Five breakout sessions will take place in which others will speak on issues such as diversity and stress.

Mack will speak about nonverbal communication at 9 a.m. Englin’s 1 p.m. lecture is titled “Why We Say What We Say.”

Registration for the conference is free and begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Sun Room of the Memorial Union. Students are welcome to attend events throughout the day.

A free meal will be provided for those who are already registered. Those not yet registered should call Kathleen Finnerty at 572-5686.

Although the conference is aimed at residence hall students, it is open to all students.
