IRHA to discuss room and board

The Inter-Residence Hall Association will introduce a bill making it harder to approve room and board increases.Andy Walling, Richardson Court Association president, authored the bylaw bill that will require parliament members to pass the increases by a vote of two-thirds, as opposed to a majority vote.”I think that it’s important to have a bigger majority in cases like these,” he said. The parliament will say good-bye to some members and welcome fresh faces at their first meeting of the semester. RCA, Towers Residence Association and Union Drive Association are all in the process of looking for new treasurers or hall representatives, said Paul Duncan, IRHA president.Duncan said new members will rejuvenate the parliament.”We’re expecting to see some new people that can hopefully add as much leadership and participation as the previous members of IRHA have,” he said. The meeting will be held tonight at 7 in the Gallery Room at the Memorial Union.
