Rage vocalist calls it quits after 9 years

Shortly after Rage Against the Machine recorded a concert for an upcoming live album, frontman Zack de la Rocha has announced he is leaving the band.
The politically-charged band has carried on a nine year career and released three multi-platinum selling albums.
In a statement released Wednesday, de la Rocha cited the group’s inability to work together collectively as the reason for the split, according to MTV online.
“I feel that it is now necessary to leave Rage because our decision-making process has completely failed,” de la Rocha said in the statement. “It is no longer meeting the aspirations of all four of us collectively as a band, and from my perspective, has undermined our artistic and political ideal.”
In response to de la Rocha’s statement, Rage guitarist Tom Morello told MTV News Wednesday afternoon that he agrees that the decision-making process has broken down for everyone.
“I have no hard feelings, and we wish Zack well with his [solo] project,” Morello told MTV.
Rage fans need not worry though, in addition to 29 tracks of live material and cover songs the band had planned to release late this year, Morello has assured fans that the band will continue to make “ground breaking music,” according to MTV online.
