Get out the caffeine; it’s finals week

‘Tis the season to be stressing.
It may be clich‚, but finals are quickly approaching and students are beginning to feel the pressure.
“We get a lot of students who come in and say they have bad cases of test anxiety,” said Michelle Clark, staff psychologist at Student Services. “Actually, though, many of them are just drinking too much caffeine, staying up all night and not eating right. That’s what really is causing their anxiety.”
In fact, Clark said at about 7 students go to Student Services each day with concerns related to test anxiety.
Although Korina Hansen, undecided freshman, said she does not need professional guidance, she said she is feeling stress from finals.
“I’ve done the all-nighter thing before — actually, I’m on one right now,” Hansen said. “I’m scared of finals. I don’t know what to expect.”
“Everyone tells me not to worry because everyone does bad on finals anyway,” Hansen added.
If that is true, it doesn’t stop students from trying to earn high grades. According to Wayne Pedersen, acting head of access services at Parks Library, the library has a steady flow of students who are making use of
