Iowa State Athletic Director Jamie Pollard announced an extension to football coach Matt Campbell’s contract.

Pollard initially announced the news through Twitter on Sunday afternoon.

Campbell’s previous contract expired Dec. 31, 2023. Additionally, Pollard said Iowa State is allotting an extra $1 million for Campbell’s assistants.

“Coach Campbell and I had a great end-of-the-year meeting Friday and during our visit we mutually agreed to extend his contract to 2024 and further demonstrate Coach Campbell and the University’s commitment to one another,” Pollard said in a release. “I couldn’t be more excited for our current players, fans and recruits to receive this great news.”

Campbell’s record at Iowa State is 19-18 and he has a career coaching record of 54-33.
