Cyclones loses 1-0 to Georgia State

The Iowa State Softball team lost to the Georgia State Panthers 1-0 in the final day of the I-75 Challenge.

A defensive battle throughout most of the game caused the Cyclones to struggle to get any offense going. Iowa State went 6-26 on the day.

Besides the offense struggling, the defense and freshman pitcher Janessa Jasoo did there part on the filed, going innings while only allowing just one run on three hits.

As an action the 5th inning of the ball game, Georgia State’s Sydney Stavro fouled out to the left-field, sacrifice fly, RBI (2-2), allowing Syler Mosel to score Late in the 5th inning Head Head Coach Pinkerton made the switch at pitcher as Ellie Spelhaug came in for Janessa Jasoo as she pitched for 4.1 innings and Ellie closed out the final 1.2 innings and was influential in relief, not allowing a hit during her time in the circle.Iowa State had had one last chance with a lead-off single in the top of the seventh, as Senior Hannah Cater, in the end, moved over to the third base. However, Iowa State came up short on outs before they could bring her home. 

The Iowa State softball team will be back in action this weekend in the USF Tournament in Tampa, Florida.
