A Prestigious History
The Iowa State Daily is an independent 501c3 non-profit committed to telling unbiased, accurate and powerful stories of the Iowa State and Ames communities. We employ 200 students over the course of a single academic year, providing them with camera equipment, press passes, national and international travel opportunities, and offices in the historic Landscape Architecture building.
The Iowa State Daily is consistently one of the top student newspapers in the nation, most recently winning the Columbia Scholastic Press Association’s Gold Crown award (the most prestigious award granted to student newspapers) in 2025.
