Cyclone’s tennis goes unbeaten on the first day of the ITA Regional

The Iowa State Cyclones’ tennis team finished Thursday’s actions going 3-0 on the first day of the ITA Central Regional Championship. Iowa State’s Christin Hsieh battled to the main draw with a qualifying win over Bradley’s Nikki Perlwitz. In the doubles matches at the ITA regional, the cyclones handled their business on the court Thursday to advance to the main draw in doubles. State’s Miska Kadleckova and Sofia Cabezas defeated Nebraska’s duo Chloe Kuckelman and Lucy Loy, 6-4. The Cyclones will face Julia Deming and Mariana Manyoma Velasquez of Kansas.

Thasaporn Naklo and Christin Hsieh beat North Dakota duo Nore Heinitz and Lucia Rizza, 6-2. The Cyclones duo set to play Lucy Lu and Anfisa Danilchenko of Minnesota.

Iowa State will continue its tennis play on Friday in Iowa City.
