The women’s Big 12 Championship has concluded, and Iowa State took sole possession of sixth place out of the 14 competing schools after finishing second last season. Arizona, Arizona State and Oklahoma State tied for first place.
Leading the way for Iowa State were juniors Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn and Pammy Chookaew, who both shot three-over-par and tied for third.
Freshman Nichakorn Pinprayoon and sophomore Keeley Marx tied for 31st, shooting 11-over-par. Finishing tied for 57th was Alexandra Vidal, shooting 21-over-par for the tournament.
However, the strong performances it had over the course of the season would disagree. Winning back-to-back meets and a lot of other tough fights throughout proved that this Cyclones team was a strong force.
Round by round
Round 1: Iowa State tied for first overall thanks to strong days from Pinprayoon and Chul-Ak-Sorn, both of whom shot one-under-par.
Round 2: The Cyclones dropped to fourth place as Pinprayoon shot five over par. Chookaew matched her first-round par with another to stay even through two days.
Round 3: The final round was a tough day for Iowa State as all golfers struggled. Chookaew and Marx had the best round scores with three-over-par each.
