Breaking: Former ISU football player sentenced in assault on Iowa basketball player
Former Iowa State defensive lineman Nicholas Kron was sentenced to one-year probation, 100 hours of community service and fined $430 on Thursday after pleading guilty to misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury against former Iowa basketball player Jordan Bohannon.
According to previous reporting from the Daily, Kron punched Bohannon three times and suffered a severe head injury in an Iowa City bar in May 2021. At the time, Bohannon was an active member of the Iowa men’s basketball team and played his final season in the academic year following the assault.
Kron played defensive line from 2010-13, making 19 tackles and 1.5 sacks in his career. He was also on the Academic All-Big 12 First Team in 2012 and Academic All-Big 12 Second Team in 2013.
According to court documents, Kron pled guilty in March and if he completes all the sentencing requirements, public records of his conviction will be expunged.

Can’t we just let boys be boys, and, if a few skulls get cracked in the normal case of displaying dominance, is it really too much to ask to look the other way?!!! This is not rocket science and shouldn’t be treated as such
