Former President Donald Trump has been declared the winner of the Iowa Caucus by the Associated Press Monday. According to the Associated Press, Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis are still battling for second place.

Trump held the advantage in the Iowa polls coming into the day, with 48% of likely caucusgoers listing Trump as the first choice. Following Trump was Haley at 20% and DeSantis at 16% in the Des Moines Register/NBC News/Mediacom Iowa Poll.

This is Trump’s first Iowa Caucus win after he finished second in the 2016 Iowa Caucus to Ted Cruz.

The former president told attendees at a rally in Indianola, Iowa, on Sunday “you can’t sit home” and “even if you vote and then pass away, it’s worth it.”
