Iowa State’s Panhellenic community provides young women with the opportunity to make new connections, develop leadership skills and create lifelong bonds that carry far beyond one’s time at college. The Collegiate Panhellenic Council oversees 16 sororities on campus, which are made up of hundreds of women from a variety of backgrounds.
Abigail Quaid, a junior studying journalism and mass communications, currently serves as the vice president of civic engagement for Iowa State’s Collegiate Panhellenic Council. Quaid recently assumed the position in January, which she said was a way to become more involved in the Panhellenic community after previously serving as vice president of philanthropy. Part of Quaid’s new role involves planning and promoting the various philanthropic events held by chapters on campus. These events help raise awareness and collect donations for a variety of causes and charitable organizations.
“Philanthropic events are super important to our community because we are able to give back in so many different ways than we ever really could anticipate,” Quaid said. “ I think that all of these chapters are super passionate about these events because the foundations that they are supporting go hand in hand with what they represent as a chapter.”
Events range anywhere from trash clean-ups to cornhole tournaments. Listed below are several upcoming Panhellenic events along with the organizations they are in support of.
