The Cyclones will participate in their first quad-meet of the season Friday night when they head to Logan, Utah, for the Utah State Quad-Meet. The meet will include the hosting Utah State, Texas Woman’s and a rematch with No. 33 Boise State.
Iowa State previously suffered a loss to then-No. 35 Boise State in Boise, Idaho, in February in a head-to-head matchup on the road.
The Cyclones enter the meet ranked No. 29, a continuing trend of falling down the national rankings. They sit at 4-5 overall this season, with a 1-3 record on the road. The team is fresh off two straight losses to No. 7 Denver at both the Denver and West Virginia tri-meets.
Iowa State averages 196.079 points per meet, and their performances thus far have been heavily bolstered by star freshman Noelle Adams.
On the other side of the meet, the host team, Utah State is 4-10 this season. The team comes in fresh off back-to-back wins, one of which came against fellow participant Texas Woman’s. So far, the Aggies have only lost one meet at home.
Texas Woman’s are currently 3-9, including a seven-meet losing streak. The team is the only team in the quad-meet to have not faced at least one of the other teams thus far this season.
No. 33 Boise State enters the quad-meet at 8-3 overall this season. However, the team has yet to win on the road. The Broncos proudly boast a win over the Cyclones when they were ranked at No. 19 and have also beaten another top-20 team, Nebraska, earlier this season.
The first rotation of the Utah State Quad-Meet will start at 8 p.m. Friday and will be streamed on the Mountain West Network.
