The Iowa State women’s golf team competed Monday and Tuesday at the Windy City Classic in Chicago. As a team, they placed 11th with a final score of 906.
Out of the 90 individual golfers competing, sophomore Keeley Marx finished highest for the Cyclones in a seven-way tie for 22nd. Marx shot nine over par in three rounds for a final score of 225.
Freshman Nichakorn Pinprayoon tied for 29th with five other golfers. She shot 10 over in three rounds at a total score of 226.
Junior Pammy Chookaew tied for 35th and shot 11 over par in three rounds for a total of 227. Junior Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn tied for 40th place, shooting 11 over par in three rounds and earning a score of 228.
Freshman Alexandra Vidal finished in a three-way tie for 71st where she shot 25 over par in three rounds for a final score of 241.
Iowa State’s round two score of 295 was its best of the tournament, with team scores of 306 and 305 in the first and third rounds respectively.
The Cyclones’ next contest will be at the Stanford Intercollegiate in Palo Alto, California, hosted by Stanford. Iowa State will compete with 20 other schools along with conference opponents Colorado and Arizona State.
