Ivy College of Business celebrated 40 years and featured food from Panera, bags and the marching band. Students and staff gathered around central campus to attend the event.
The college, which was founded in 1984, is the largest business college in Iowa and offers 14 majors, nine minors and two certificates.
Ella Schroeder, a junior in marketing, said she was enjoying the marching band at the event.
“It’s giving me hype also just because the football team is doing so good,” Schroeder said.
Schroeder said being an Ivy student means hard work.
“Just trying to make the world a better place and just making an impact in the workforce,” Schroeder said.
Amelia Kretsch, a sophomore in management, said she was enjoying the food at the event and Ivy means a good community to her.
“It just means a good community, like good people at heart,” Kretsch said.
Molly McLaughlin, a senior in management, said she was also enjoying the free Panera and agreed that Ivy provides a good community.
“I also really enjoy the professors and all the people that I’ve met,” McLaughlin said.
Leah Locke, a member of a small business development center, which is a program at Ivy, mentioned that she is an alumni of Iowa State and has spent her whole professional life in Ames.
“We’re just here to support our college, support Iowa State and congratulate Ivy on 40 years,” Locke said.
Locke said she was enjoying the beautiful day at the event.
“It’s always fun to have the music, just a good time,” Locke said.
