On Wednesday night, the No. 20 Iowa State volleyball team entered Hilton Coliseum in hopes to claim its third Big 12 win of the season. Its aspirations quickly vanished as the Baylor Bears dominated the match winning in three sets (19-25, 20-25, 14-25).

A lot of things did not go the Cyclones’ way against the Bears. But the biggest thing that hindered Iowa State’s chances was its hitting. Against Baylor, the Cardinal and Gold had a mere .113 hitting percentage.

Overall, the Cyclones’ attack was subpar. However, they still got a nice performance from Jess Schaben who recorded 10 kills.

The loss to the Bears put the Cyclones at 11-3 overall and 2-2 in conference on the year.

Iowa State will retake the court next Wednesday, Oct. 11, to take on the Kansas State Wildcats at Hilton Coliseum. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
