Iowa State sweeps Northern Illinois

The No. 22 Iowa State volleyball continued its hot streak as it swept the Northern Illinois Huskies Saturday afternoon.

In three sets, the Cyclones defeated the Huskies, 25-15, 25-15 and 25-21.

Iowa State hit .287 as a team, and was led by Samara West who tallied 14 kills and .542 hitting percentage. West the only Cyclone who was rolling Saturday. Grace Lazard also contributed eight kills and five blocks against Northern Illinois.

Setter Monique Harris assisted on 25 of Iowa State’s points and libero Hali Hillegas had 19 digs.

The now 7-0 Cyclones will retake the court this upcoming Tuesday, Sept. 12, to take on the UNI Panthers. The match will be at Hilton Coliseum at 6:30 p.m.

The win over Northern Illinois meant that Iowa State won the Iowa Invitational.
