Megan Van Kirk

Year: senior

Major: Event Management

What they’re singing: ‘Gravity’ by Sara Barellies.

“The reason why I decided to do Cyclone Voice this year was because I saw the show with Jesse McCartney last year and it was really great getting to see everyone perform. One because they were all amazing and, two because its a great idea and lets people express themselves through music!”

Samantha Kragel

Year: Freshman

Major: Pre-Interior Design

What they’re singing: “Famous Last Words” by My Chemical Romance

“Performing and singing are some of my biggest passions and I try to take any opportunity I can to do them. Cyclone Voice has provided me an opportunity to connect with other passionate performers backstage and feel proud of my acomplishment on something I have loved doing for years.”

Derek Lutt

Major: Pre-Business

What they’re singing: Run Away With Me by Kerrigan and Lowdermilk

“I decided to audition for Cyclone Voice mainly because I wanted to return to the stage. I’m a freshman at ISU and throughout high school I was always involved with everything music or drama related, but when I started here at ISU, I wasn’t involved in anything and I saw this as a great opportunity to perform again and meet some people who are just as crazy into music as me.”

Tyler Geiger

Year: Freshman

Major: Agricultural Business

What they’re singing: Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash

“I decided to audition last minute this year with my friend EllieMae because we figured why not. We were both fans of Lauren Alaina and wanted to meet her. We knew the worst the judges could say was no but we went for it!”

“I decided to audition for the Cyclone Voice for the same reason that everyone else did! I love performing and singing and music. Even if I did not make it to finals, putting myself out there and challenging myself is a success in itself. Everyone is so nice and talented so you really want everyone to do good, but the group of talent is definitely intimidating to a point!”
