Iowa State sophomore guard Bridget Carleton has been named the co-Big 12 Player of the Week. This is Carleton’s first player of the week this season and her sixth time in two years with the Cyclones.

Carleton started off her big week with a team-high 15 points against Oklahoma, while also pulling in six rebounds.

Her biggest performance came against TCU on Sunday afternoon, where she scored 30 points for the second time this season. Carleton also grabbed nine rebounds, four assists, and two blocks.

Although the Cyclones came out on the losing end in both games, it wasn’t due to a lack of production from Carleton. Over the course of the week Carleton averaged 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and two blocks.

Out of the 10 regular season weeks so far in the 2017 season, an Iowa State player has been named Big 12 player of the week in five of them.

Senior guard Seanna Johnson and junior guard Jadda Buckley have each received the honor twice this year. Iowa State is the only school in the conference to have three different player earn the honor of player of the week.

The Cyclones return to action on Wednesday night as they will face No. 2 Baylor in Waco, Texas.
