Iowa State football got a big boost to its recruiting class just two days before National Signing Day. Defensive back Keontae Jones committed to the Cyclones on Monday night, per a video on his Twitter account.

Jones is the No. 41 overall safety recruit in the class of 2017, according to 247Sports.com, and is the brother of Iowa State true freshman Deshaunte Jones.

Jones, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound safety, is the fourth defensive back to commit to the Cyclones and will help lighten the blow after former Iowa State commit Kam White, uncommitted earlier this month.

Jones, who hails from Cincinnati and attended Colerain High School, committed to Iowa State over Indiana and Virginia Tech. He is the 23rd commit in the 2017 class and will officially sign on National Signing day on Wednesday.
