2000 pop fans, rejoice: Aaron Carter is heading to the M-Shop on Wednesday. The brother of Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter, Aaron began performing at the age of 7 and has been singing, performing and touring ever since. Here’s a look back at a few highlights from the singer’s 20-year career.

1998: Carter’s self-titled album is released after he opened for the Backstreet Boys in March 1997. The album’s first single, “Crush on You,” was released in the fall of 1997, and the album itself debuted in the United States on June 16, 1998.

2000: Aaron’s Party is released on Sept. 26 and included singles “I Want Candy,” “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It),” “That’s How I Beat Shaq” and “Bounce.” Carter went on to open for the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears on their respective tours. In December 2000, Aaron’s Party went platinum.  

2001: Carter made his acting debut on an episode on Lizzie McGuire on Disney Channel in March and made his Broadway debut one month later as JoJo the Who in Seussical the Musical. The album “Oh Aaron” was released on Aug. 7 and featured his first duet with his brother, Nick Carter.

2002: Carter released a third album, “Another Earthquake,” on Sept. 3, 2002.

2003: Carter and actress Hilary Duff end their on and off relationship after two years. That same year, “Most Requested Hits,” a compilation composed of songs from Carter’s last two albums, was released.

2006: Carter starred in a reality TV show called House of Carters, centering on Carter and his five siblings reuniting and living together. The show ran on E! Network from October to November 2006.

2008: Carter joins Dancing with the Stars in its ninth season. He and his partner Karina Smirnoff finished in fifth place after being eliminated in week 8.

2012: After some time off, Carter starred in an Off-Broadway production of The Fantasticks, playing the role of Matt, the male lead. He also played several one-off shows around New York City and New Jersey before starting up the After Party tour in 2013.

2014: Carter embarked on an 11-city Canadian tour as well as the Wonderful World tour, which spanned over 50 dates.

2015: On November 24, 2015, Carter released a preview of his single “Fool’s Gold”, which will appear on his EP, LØVË, which is set to come out February of this year.

2016: The full song and music video for “Fool’s Gold” are released.

2017: Another single from LÖVË, “Sooner or Later”, was released on January 20, 2017.
