Best-Selling Video Games of the Week

Here are the best-selling video games in the United States for the week ending April 2, 2015 according to the website VGChartz.

10.) MLB 16: The Show (PS3)

This edition of the multi-platform baseball game has current American League MVP Josh Donaldson on the cover. This latest installment to “the Show” franchise has SlowTime, which is a feature that allows player to slow down time while playing the game.

9.) Call of Duty: Black Op 3 (PS4)

Released last November, “Black Ops 3” became the best-selling game of last year. The PlayStation 4 edition has a current average score of 81/100 from 87 different critics on Metacritic. In their review of the game, IGN said “with fun 4-player co-op, new powers, and a fleshed out Zombies mode, ‘Black Ops 3’ is the biggest ‘Call of Duty’ game yet.”

8.) Grand Theft Auto V (PS4)

Released a year after the PS3/360 version, the PlayStation 4 edition of the best-selling game of 2013 is still selling strong. This version has an average score of 97/100 from 66 different critics on Metacritic, garnering “universal acclaim in the process”.

The Xbox One version of this “Call of Duty” installment did even better in sales this week. Like its PS4 counterpart, it also has an 81/100 average on Metacritic.

6.) Pokken Tournament (WiiU)

In this collaboration between Nintendo and Bandai Namco, “Pokken Tournament” is a “Pokemon” fighting game developed by the producers of the popular “Tekken” franchise. First released in Japanese arcades last year, it now has an official release on the WiiU. It currently has an average score of 76/100 from 64 different critics on Metacritic.

5.) EA Sports UFC 2 (PS4)

The PS4 version of EA Sports’ UFC fighting game currently has an average score of 79/100 from 30 different critics on Metacritic. Brian Shea of Game Informer stated “’UFC 2’ improves over its predecessor in the ways it needed to. The improved ground game and deeper career mode are the biggest draws, but Knockout mode is a blast to play with a friend, and Ultimate Team offers a unique twist on the popular mode from other sports games. If 2014’s ‘EA Sports UFC’ was a promise being made, UFC 2 is its deliverance.” Devin Charles of Game Revolution also stated that “A mix of power and finesse, both in ring and out, there’s no doubt this is a solid pickup for folks interested in handing out beatings like their favorite MMA fighters do.”

4.) Gears of War (XOne)

This is a port of the classic 2006 Xbox 360 game albeit remastered. Like its predecessor, this version garnered critical praise with an average of 82/100 on Metacritic from 74 different critics.

3.) Tom Clancy’s The Divison (XOne)

This game, which combined the traditional shooter elements of previous Tom Clancy games with an RPG element, garnered praise from critics with an average score of 80/100 on Metacritic from 30 different critics.

2.) Tom Clancy’s The Divison (PS4)

The PS4 version of the previous game also managed to garner a 80/100 average score from 58 different critics.

1.)MLB 16: The Show (PS4)

Although this version of this particular game has the same elements as the PS3 version, what make this version special is that it’s Road to the Show has a training system that allows you to unlock various perks.
