Iowa State falls to Virginia in the Sweet 16

Iowa+State+senior+forward+Georges+Niang+shoots+past+Virginia+guard+Malcolm+Brogdon+at+the+Sweet+16+on+March+25.+Niang+scored+30+points.+He+is+now+the+fifth+player+to+score+at+least+28+points+in+three+straight+NCAA+Tournament+games+and+is+the+first+since+Jimmer+Fredette+of+BYU+in+2011.+ISU+fell+84-71.+Virginia+will+advance+to+the+Elite+Eight+on+March+27+in+Chicago.

No. 4 seed Iowa State played No. 1 seed Virginia in the Sweet 16 and fell 84-71 on March 25. Seniors Abdel Nader, Georges Niang and Jameel McKay finished their season at the United Center in Chicago.
