Redshirt freshman Scotty Schaffner will be transferring from Iowa State at the end of the spring semester, AllCyclones.com reported Wednesday night. 

Schaffner redshirted his first season at Iowa State in the 2015 season. He was ranked 21st in the tight end position by ESPN during his senior year in high school. 

He was also named Kansas City’s area top tight end during his senior year of high school. Schaffner was expected to be a back up behind redshirt senior tight end Justin Chandler and redshirt sophomore Cole Anderson this upcoming season.
