The Cyclones capped off their three-game road trip to Colorado in dominant fashion with a 10-0 blowout of Colorado State on Saturday night.

The goals were coming early and often for the Cyclones, scoring four in the first period. Alex Grupe opened the scoring, and was followed by goals from Trevor Sabo, Eero Helanto and Jake Uglem to jump out to the early lead.

Four wasn’t enough, as the Cyclones kept piling it on and scored four more in the second period. Trevor Sabo netted his second of the game, while Jon Severson, Chase Ray and Dalton Kaake each added a goal to extend the lead to 8-0.

The Cyclones slowed down a little in the third, but still managed to score two more times to finish the game. Preston Blanek scored his first goal of the night, and Eero Helanto added his second to complete the 10-0 rout of the Rams.

The Cyclone defense was stellar all night, holding the Rams to 35 shots in the game. Cyclone goalie Derek Moser was perfect in the net on the way to his second shutout of the season.

The Cyclones will be back on the road on Dec. 4 and 5 to take on Ohio in a two-game series.
