Halloween costumes on a college budget

Felicia Dacosta

Halloween is right around the corner. In order to completely celebrate the holiday, a costume is a must have. But most college students do not want to spend a lot of money on something to wear for only day. There are many different costumes you can create with items already in your closet, or you can go out and buy cheap accessories to complete a costume. Here are a few ideas to help you get your Halloween costume ideas flowing:

1. Mummy

Gauze and toilet paper are very accessible. Wrap yourself up and get ready to go trick-or-treating.

2. Audrey Hepburn

Breakfast at Tiffany’s! All you need is big, dark sunglasses, a classy updo hairstyle, some pearls, and a fitted black dress.

3. A typical mean girl

Use any book and create the “Burn Book” cover. Finish the costume with a plaid skirt and a pink top.

4. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective

Go buy a super cheap pink tutu at a party store or make a homemade one. Wear black combat boots, shorts and a white button-up shirt.

5. Anything with intense makeup or paint

With the power of makeup, you can become anyone and anything. Create whiskers on your cheeks to be a cat, a hollowed out face to be a scary zombie or a white face to be a mime.
